POP MUSIC 2012 to look forward to!
Original Sugababes line up comeback:
Here are all of the members that have been in the Sugababes. The original members are the three girls to the right.
The Sugababes (1.0) were formed in 1998, but because of a lot of drama the three original members (Siobhán Donaghy, Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan) left one by one and got replaced. In the beginning of the Sugababes era, they were considered to be the second most successful girl band to come out of the UK, but as the time went by the less successful they were. Their last smash hit was ”About You Now” which was released in 2007 (with only one original member, Keisha). Now five years later the Sugababes 4.0 (no original members) are on a break aka; nobody wants to deal with the floppers. Just when we thought that we had seen the last of the soul-pop trio, the three original members tweeted in January that they were recording new music with each other and that drama had been put behind of them! I am very, very exited about this because this also means that they will go back to the group’s original musical roots with pure soul, underground pop music, instead of the 4.0’s super mainstream pop album.

Xtina’s last album ”Bionic” (2008) earned her the new moniker ”Floptina”. The album was badly received by the press, charts and her fans. I feel though that the pop diva’s 2012 comeback will be amazing. The reasons for that are many: Her position as a judge on the tv show ”The Voice” is a great pad to launch her comeback and of course her feature in last year’s smash hit ”Moves Like Jagger” with fellow judge Adam Lambert brought back the attention to the amazing singer. Now that Adele is on a break people are eager to hear great voices, and who has a better voice than Christina? I also think that this quote pretty much says it all.
“The album is going to be a very heartfelt, deep-rooted, and introspective record for me. We’re hoping for release in spring/summer”. -Christina Aguilera. I don’t recieve any signs from another Bionic flop, this sounds more like her best record to date: ”Stripped”.
One of the most underrated pop artists will release her first full length studio album.
The amazing Nelly Furtado will release her first English record in over five years. Her smashing album ”Loose” which she released back in 2006 was extremely good. Anyone remember ”Maneater”, ”Promiscuos Girl”, ”Say It Right” and ”All Good Things”?
”Refreshing, clean pop sound.” Is what Nelly told New York Post that her fans can expect from her new record.

Cassie- King of Hearts
The model/dancer/singer will release her second studio album this year. It has been a long time sins she had her break through with ”Me & U” and ”Long Way 2 Go”. This new record will maintain the dark and sultry elements of her early material but merges it with electronic dance, jungle and reggae. The combination of these new influences with her clean style adds up to a perfect sum of what Cassie is all about this year. “In my video we called it ‘giving ’90s supermodel.’ It’s the perfect definition of who I am right now and what I’m going through. People aren’t going to expect me to come out with what I have.”- Cassie. Check out her trailer for ”King Of Hearts”
The new Pussycat Dolls line will be introduced to the world in February. They haven’t confirmed if they will release their album this or next year, but we will get singles. The new dolls will have three lead singers and two dancers. I can already tell you who the members are: Lauren Bennett (the girl who is featured on Party Rock Anthem), Vanessa Curry, Chrystina Sayers (ex Girlicious member), Erica Kiehl and Paula Van Oppen.
The one and only/queen of pop will finally, after four long years of waiting release her twelth studio album. Let me just start with the AMAZING cover!!! This is perfection <3. I really hope that it will have the same dance music feeling that ”Confessions on the Dance floor” had. I don’t think that her comeback will be huge, but most certainly successful. Madonna had a really bad luck when her new lead single (not finished) leaked 6 months before the release date. Plans had to change and now the song ”Gimme All Your Luvin’” will have makeover with M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj. Confirmed producers on M.D.N.A. are: Benny Benassi, Martin Solveig, Jean Baptiste and William Orbit.
